4 Applications of the Time freeze rig

Application 1 - Time Freeze on Location

In this application of the "TIME FREEZE" rig, the camera array is set up on location around a subject or event. One motion picture camera is placed at either end of the array to capture the live action, while the 100 stills cameras freeze the event. The event happens as the motion picture cameras roll and, at the required time during the action, the stills cameras fire simultaneously or can be sequenced to move into a freeze.











Application 2 - Time Freeze in Studio with CGI Background

The "TIME FREEZE" array is set up in a green screen studio with the event occuring on green. A motion picture camera at each end of the array captures the live action, and the stills camera captures and freezes the event. A computer generated image is then inserted into the background.












Application 3 - "TIME FREEZE" in Studio, live action Background

The "TIME FREEZE" array is set up in a green screen studio with the event occuring on green. A motion picture camera at each end of the array captures the live action while the stills array captures the frozen event. However now a live action background plate is filmed on location to match the exact movement of that shot in the studio. The result is when the two images are combined the main event event appears frozen while the background action moves at normal speed.




Application 4 - Ultra Slow Motion

The "TIME FREEZE" array has the ability to be sequenced to allow the cameras to fire from 1/50,000 of a second apart, so if an event was to be shot with cameras sequenced like this, the 100 cameras can shoot at motion picture speeds equal to 50,000 frames per second.

In this application the array could be set up in a straight line or an arc. This is the fastest motion picture camera on earth (for 100 frames).
